Not for the queasy

Christmas dinner

Don't look too closely - sorry to gross you out. It had to be documented!

Christmas dinner : TAKE 2

Let me lay down the background for this story. The night before Christmas eve JJ woke up a lot and one of the times said his tummy hurt. I started to send him back to bed and then he said that he was going to throw up. So I jumped out of bed and rushed him to the toilet. We made it just in time! Now the next day we played it safe feeding him only toast and such. For the next 30 house he was fine. While I was making Christmas dinner has wanted a hot dog. Well.. it was Christmas after all and I didn't want to deal with the battle of saying no... so I thought "why not". I did think twice before hot dog number 2 but still didn't have time to fight the child.
About 2 hours later we sat down for our festive dinner. After all was dished up JJ went to eat a bite of ham. I see him out of the corner of my eye gag a little. He says to me "i don't like it". Because of the gag I don't force it. I did just see him eat 2 hot dogs. Maybe he is really not hungry. I do tell him the he needs to take 1 bite of sweet potatoes (to try it). I put a small amount in his mouth. Not more the 20 seconds later we have a huge mess on our hands. We cleaned it up and moved to the kitchen table. I don't think any of us had much of an appetite after that, but it was sure good food!

Christmas morning

SANTA CAME! I think my kids had forgotten because Abby came in my room at 7:00 am and was asking if she could go down and watch TV. We waited until about 7:30 before we woke JJ up and started the day.
Christmas jammies.

Luke was just happy to be awake.

Abby with some of her new dolls from Christmas. The kids were so spoiled. Thank you everybody!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

December catch-up

Ok... so I am still playing catch up and this will be short and sweet. Jsut a few more pictures.

Luke loves to crawl under tables and be under furniture. This is where he ended up the other night during dinner at a friend’s house.

Abby really wanted this tiny tree. She wanted the smallest tree she could find.

Getting our Christmas tree.

For our friend Sarah’s birthday we went ice skating. It was lots of fun.

Decorating the Christmas tree.

Our friends had a gingerbread house decorating party (for Adults only). It was so much fun! Thanks Kendall’s

My baby speaks pigeon

The day after thanksgiving we headed up to Utah for the blessing of my sister's baby. Luke loved her dog. Luke would hoot at him to get him to come over and then squint his face because their dog would lick Luke's face. We figured out that Luke coos like the pigeons that have made a home in our roof. They are loudest in him room.

Thanksgiving

We were able to spend Thanksgiving with the Wood family. This is just the grandchildren that were there. It was quite the event ... wonderful food, lots of love, and so much fun.

Califonia trip

Ok so I forgot the mention that we flew to see Joel's family and Grandparents on his mom's side. We were only there for about 48 hours but sure had a good time. Here are a few picutre highlights.

Luke's first airplane ride

Abby and JJ before we left.
Luke thinking he is so big in his own seat.

Daddy's airplane.

You can only do this when you know the crew and work for the airline. Someday my kids will know how rare this picture is.

SNOW......in VEGAS!

Yes we had a rare snow storm hit Las Vegas. We did not get as much as some areas, but we will take what we can get. It was just enough snow to have fun with but was gone within a day.

Our house with snow on it.

The kids tried to catch the snow in their mouths

After playing outside in the cold we came in to have hot chocolate and make sugar cookies. Our friends Jesse and Sarah came over to have fun with us.

Eating our cookies!

The next morning we went out to play in the snow.

The snowman we built.

Big Milestone

His knees are chafed and his toes have rug burns. It is official folks ... Luke is a cruiser. He is crawling all over. This has helped with his Tortacallus. (note: He has an underdeveloped neck muscle so his head usually hangs down a little more on the left side.)

It's official...

We have held off saying anything because we were so sure something would fall through. As of 4:30 today...our house is SOLD! We moved out last week to a house just about a mile away and twice the size! WE LOVE IT! It has been nice to have space to play, move, breath, and put guests. I will post pictures later when I have the time. Right now I am consumed with going through boxes and finding new homes for all of our things. There were a few bumps in the road but we were blessed with a patient buyer who held out through it all. We are Sad to see our cute little house go and leave all of our great neighbors and ward. We still want to see you all just as much (our number is still the same). We said the it would be a miracle if this sale when through in this market, so I know that we were suppose to move at this time.

Adrianne, Thanks for thinking of us...

There was a fun sand castle contest going on at Newport Beach. The theme was "going for gold". This was one of out favorites!

There has been so much going on in our lives that I keep getting overwhelmed to blog it all. So, lets start here and go backwards.

I'm a soccer mom!

Here is Abby as a cute "honey bee" post game... thus the crazy hair! I t was hot and early.

Today was Abby's first Soccer game. The first half of the game she just kinda stood there but then she woke up and almost even scored! "I love my soccer game. i love to get ahead of people and block the ball so they can't get the ball in the goal." - Abby

Our little burn victim

Ten minutes after we get home from church our sweet Abby was helping Joel make a PB and J sandwich. She eagerly went to the pantry to get out the peanut butter. AS she was walking back she knocked the ironing board that was up in the kitchen and the iron fell to the ground. Now as I heard this from the other room no big deal right (the iron was used this morning as we rushed to get out the door, thus still being out). Well, next I hear "oh Abby... Oh no ... Abby.... " coming from Joel. As my heart sinks I rush into find her arm, from her elbow to her hand was badly burned. Joel still had shirts that needed ironing for work and so he turn the iron on five minutes prior. Long story short she will be just fine, but for now ...eww... it hurts me to just think of it let alone look at it or clean it.

Update... we no longer have the big bandage jut a sleeve to go over her arm to keep it out of the sunlight.

Luke Laughing

Here we are at the park, picnicking with Jesse and Sarah Owen and the Petersons. Luke sure thought this fork was the best thing on earth. He liked it even more with the sound effects. He did this for about 10 minutes. Check it out! This is especially for all you that are too far way to enjoy this little boy daily.

Note: This was taken by a cell phone so it may not be the best quality.

hair today, gone tomorrow

Who's that baby? My baby was born with a full head of dark hair. Where did he go? This week all of Luke's baby hair was falling out ( I know kinda gross) and he has gone lighter. He is now starting to look more like he fits in around here.

Note: sorry for the nude bath picture, But it was the best to show of how much hair he has lost.

First day of school

Abby started school today. She was so excited and didn't even look back when she went into the room.

This is what you get when you ask for a silly face so that the next picture you hopefully won't get a silly face.

Abby in her new classroom. What a big girl! We are so proud of you Abby-girl.
