Lucas Mark Smith

Baby Luke is here and we are home! Everything went very smoothly and well. After only 5 hours of labor the doctor showed up and #3 was here, weighing in at 8 lbs 13 oz and 21inches long. Little Lucas has been a really good baby and tolerates his excited big sister and big brother.
More photos to come...

The Final Countdown

Thank you to all the well wishes we have gotten today. We are excited to meet this new family member tomorrow. I still can't believe it this day has come (no matter how ready I am to bend again, sleep again (maybe?), hold off going to the bathroom, and just start feeling like myself). I am so pleased that he has held off until everything could be in place. We will let you all know of the stats as soon as we can.

On another note, We had a fun Easter and I did not take a single picture of my kids. Yikes! I guess I was a little warn out and the camera is already packed in the hospital bag. We loved having my Mom here for Easter.

Tick tock...

I feel like a ticking time bomb just waiting for the most inconvenient time to go off. I went to the Dr. apt. yesterday and I have made some progress. I am not sure if that means anything because I sat so dilated with Abby. However... sometimes when you are not ready to have the baby they decide to make their grand entrance.

Joel has left again until Monday night.

There is a full moon out tomorrow that really scares me.

Everyone has plans this weekend for Easter.

I have come down with a cold and I fear we will all have it soon.

I do have the fact that none of my kids have come on their own. They all had to be induced. So..lets all keep our hopes up.

Enchanted!

We are so excited for this movie to come to DVD Today. We watched these videos about 10 times yesterday on YouTube.

Happy little working song:

This is what happens when Joel is out of town and we are already a half hour late to Church.
Abby insisted that the penguin was in the pictures with her.

Easter Egg hunt

(I know... he is kind of a scary looking Easter bunny. I was really surprised by the kids when they agreed to sit for a picture.)

Last night I ventured out with the kids to a local Easter egg hunt. We were all having a good time until the egg hunt. Abby was so excited and JJ... well, lets just say there were too many people there for his liking. I kept asking if he wanted to do something and he would just shake. He wouldn't even answer. He did warm up to the games when he saw he would get prizes.

First up in the hunt... JJ. They wouldn't let anyone go out on the field with him so we coached him and told him that we would be right were he left us. Well... he made it as far as the first egg and turned around and came back. He had enough Easter hunt.
Next up, Abby's age group. We coached her as well and she was so excited. The race was off and it looked like she was picking up a lot. Next thing I know she turns around and is crying and coming back. She goes on to tell me, "I only got 1 egg. I am not a good racer. That is why I need to ride a horse. Then I will be a fast racer." We talked about it and it all worked out. I just think the games inside were more fun.

Abby and JJ playing the duck pond game.

Abby in the bunny hop race.

This game you were supposed to shoot from the line they had on the ground. After the first 2 shots that went backward over JJ's head he took the ball and went up for a slam dunk. It was so funny. He liked this game.

How to freeze...

I bought some fruits and veggies this week at really good prices. So I thought I would freeze them for a later date. I found this site very useful in learning what and how to do it and why.
http://extension.missouri.edu/xplor/hesguide/foodnut/gh1503.htm

It also has re-heating info and other helpful hints. With spring and summer upon us and no idea how to can I think this might be the next best thing.

Here is another site that I came across that has everything you need to know about anything. http://www.ehow.com Just a little FYI.

Cute craft ideas...

I was asked to be in charge of the children's class for the Enrichment activity next week. They really want them to actually learn something. I found this cute Easter idea on a blog I like to check out. (http://www.makeandtakes.com/). You plant grass seed into the little cups they decorated. So I think that this might be what we do. I am not so sure of the lesson yet... but it will come to me I am sure.

These are the cutest gloves and look like they would be not that hard to make next year for Christmas. Thanks Grandma'ma for thinking of us and sending them. I had to take a picture and blog it before my kids played with them.

Ymmmm....

Today I made some yummy treats for our ward Young Women dinner and auction fundraiser. Mint Brownies (my Aunt's recipe). Some may call them BYU Brownies... I like to call them Mormon Mint brownies. They were so yummy and the basket turned out really cute. I will try to get the recipe posted when I get a moment to type it up.

Just for fun

Ok so I thought it would be fun for all of you to take a gamble on when you think this baby will come (We do live in Vegas). My actual due date is March 30th (but with the leap year I would say the 29th). I will tell you that we already have the induction date set for the 25th if he does not come any sooner. Yippee! So you have only 18 days to choose from. Yikes! I do go into panic mode every time I log on and look at the baby countdown counter.
(note...Please don't look to closely at this picture. I showered but that was about all this day.)

On another note we have not picked a name. As we narrow down the list we will post the selections we like the most.

Letter of the week update....
Thanks for all your ideas. We went with red Jello (Abby wanted rainbow Jello but it was easier to buy it then make it) and Rice Krispie Treats. Ymmm...

Letter of the week...

The letter of the week at Abby's pre-school is R. We have been asked to bring the snack and it should start with the letter R. This has been much easier then last time when we had the letter K and the time before when we had E. I have come up with these food ideas, but would love to hear if you have any others.
Rice
Red Jello
Raisins
Rice Cakes
radishes
Reese's peanut butter cups
ravioli
rabbits (maybe the marshmallow ones -- it is Easter after all)
raspberry jam
Rainbow Jello/cake/fruit salad/etc...
Rice Krispies Treats (sprinkled with red sprinkles)
