Swivel Sweeper

Abby has learned how to use the remote. It has been a blessing when she can find Disney in the morning without my help. However... last Sunday Joel and I were trying to take a nap and she was playing quietly in her room. I heard the TV go on and thought nothing of it. Then about 20 minutes later Abby comes in our room and was so excited. She says, " Mom! I was watching a Mommy and Daddy show. There is this vacuum that can go under the table and in a circle and all over. You can clean your kitchen or your stairs.... It's called the swivel sweeper." I turned on our TV and flipped channels to see what she was talking about. Sure enough... it was an infomercial. Yup she was sold! We have been hearing about the Swivel sweeper all week. She even wanted to use our garage sale money to get it. Hmm.. maybe we need to sweep more.... or maybe she just takes after my dad and is sold by the infomercial.

This is for Poppy

We have all been missing my Dad ("Poppy" as my kids call him or "Pocky" as JJ use to say) lately. He passed away this past July. We feel that Luke was sent to our family by him. When I went to my first doctors apointment he did an ultrasound to see when he would be due and we were told that the conception date was the day my Dad passed. I know that nothing happened on that day... but it has been a nice little reminder of him. So therefore, I can't belive it has been over 9 months. We all miss him dearly and think about him often.



Last week we were out flying a kite. It happened to be the kite that my mom and dad bought when we were in California on time. The plan was to fly it at the beach but it was never windy enough. While we were flying it we all thought of Poppy. I remembered how much he enjoyed flying kites. Abby got sad and started on all the questions about heaven and when she will see Poppy again. When we told her that it was a long tine until she will be able to go to Heaven to see him she got sad and then she said, " That too long. I can't wait that long." I think we all feel the same way as she does.

JJ- As we sat down for family prayer the other night JJ started in on his prayer. This is the first time that he has ever said a prayer all by himself. It was really cute... especially the end when he said, "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, Amen."

As We were all sitting on the couch one night Luke was looking at JJ and I said to him ,"Look Luke, that's JJ." JJ then turned and a little annoyed said to me, "NO, I'm big brother!"

I know the pacifier takes up half his face... but we are so happy he takes one!
