Our little burn victim

Ten minutes after we get home from church our sweet Abby was helping Joel make a PB and J sandwich. She eagerly went to the pantry to get out the peanut butter. AS she was walking back she knocked the ironing board that was up in the kitchen and the iron fell to the ground. Now as I heard this from the other room no big deal right (the iron was used this morning as we rushed to get out the door, thus still being out). Well, next I hear "oh Abby... Oh no ... Abby.... " coming from Joel. As my heart sinks I rush into find her arm, from her elbow to her hand was badly burned. Joel still had shirts that needed ironing for work and so he turn the iron on five minutes prior. Long story short she will be just fine, but for now ...eww... it hurts me to just think of it let alone look at it or clean it.

Update... we no longer have the big bandage jut a sleeve to go over her arm to keep it out of the sunlight.

Tyler burned his hand as a baby and it is all completely healed with no sign of scarring or abnormality- it's amazing how quickly skin heals and takes care of itself as long as it's clean & well cared for, so good luck! It's so sad & stressful, but kids will be kids and this to shall pass! :)
